Virtual Garden TOUR 2020 - Final Part

The final part of our Virtual Garden Tour 2020 takes us to Ilkley. Our first visit is to a contemporary terraced garden that we visited both in 2018 and 2019 and as per tradition we finish our tour at Charnwood, a classical parterre garden to a Victorian villa in Ilkley.

Terraced contemporary garden to a town house, Ilkley

This garden seems to attract attention as a great example of combining traditional and contemporary materials.

We visited this garden in both 2018 and 2019  since which the client has started the basement kitchen which includes a large picture window with doors centred on the garden steps.

It was fantastic to see how perfectly the new glazed window frames the view of the garden. We’ll be featuring the project in our case studies when the kitchen is finished.

A classical parterre garden to a Victorian villa in Ilkley

We have visited this Ilkley garden for the last four summers since our garden visits began. It’s always a delight to return there. We’ve been lucky to visit on hot summer days when the shady Tea House is a delightful retreat from the warm sun; the sound of the water from the grotto makes a relaxing bubbling sound and the colourful and fragrant David Austin roses just get better and better each year. We are planning some aerial footage of the garden this summer and will share this shortly.

A lovely place to relax and enjoy the view over the garden and the fragrance of the roses.

We hope you have enjoyed the virtual tour and look forward to resuming the ‘real’ garden visits in the summer of 2021.
